Project Area: Vaishali, East Champaran, Rohtas, Sheohar and Jamui districts in the State of Bihar covering 32 gram panchayats in all.

Overview
In order to hand over the program to local institutions and the local bodies and make the program sustainable MVF focuses on strengthening of Gram Panchayats (GPs) , School Management Committees(SMCs) and Child Rights Protection Forums (CRPF) and school teachers. Further, MVF is actively involved in formation of state level network through capacity building of NGOs and expand the MVF Model of creating Child Labour Free Zones (CLFZ).

Project Updates

Trainings to GP, SMC, Teachers and CRPF embers on RTE provisions and their role in implementation of RTE and submitting petitions to the government officials for facilities in schools and anganwadi centres.

  1. Conducted survey of children in the 0-18 age group and school status along with gram panchayats in each of the gram panchayat constituency
  2. Conducted State level workshop with teacher organizations
  3. Conducted State level net work meeting on Child Labour Free Zones.
